A Midsummer's Daydream

We have always loved the impressionist paintings' accurate depiction of light in its changing qualities. There is nothing more beautiful than the feeling of enchantment you get every single time a Monet, Renoir or Degas - for example - comes before your eyes. It's a unique feeling, almost like your heart skips a beat and you forget to breathe for an instant. Impressionist paintings are more like photographs, it is an art of immediacy and movement, of candid poses and compositions, of the play of light expressed in a bright and varied use of colour.

This fascination with impressionism determined us to see nature in a completely different manner and it has contributed a lot to our way of approaching photography.

That Golden Rule

This is what I wore at the H&M f/w collection preview party. When I put the outfit together I hesitated between this striped shirt and a simple white tee and I ended up choosing the shirt, just because I thought it looked great with the dotted skirt..I guess clashing prints are more fun. I kept everything else very simple: a pair of red plimsolls from H&M and minimal jewelry, a couple of thin rings and a cute gold necklace (not visible in the photos, I'm afraid). I'm not sure that this post has much to do with the Golden Rule, but I do love Biffy Clyro's song. The ending is mesmerizing.

Vă spuneam într-un post recent că ne-a apucat un dor de ducă și nu ne mai dă pace. Așa că deja am început să alcătuim liste cu lucrurile esențiale pentru vacanță (la mare de data asta). Costum de baie retro, geantă & pălărie, sandale cu platformă, ochelari de soare și... încă ceva. O piele bronzată și perfect epilată. Prima parte o rezolvăm cu o sesiune de cumpărături (sau mai multe), dar ce facem cu a doua?

Modern Magic Formula

It is the season of roses, of magical moments, of daydreaming and feeling like a kid again. I fell in love with this wonderful blouse/dress from TheDearhunters and I knew it was just perfect for layering even in the warm summer days.

Wanderlust

It's that time of year again! This feeling creeps up on you, and you don't even notice... at first you begin to look at photos from last summer, then you make a board on Pinterest with places you want to visit and all of a sudden the wanderlust takes over your mind. You feel bored, exhausted, you hate the city and all you can dream of is a beach, the clear skies and the sea in the most perfect shade of  blue. Or maybe it's a picturesque cottage in the countryside, with a vast field of wild flowers on one side, and the breezy woods on the other. Or a charming medieval town, with a multitude of cafes and small restaurants. While making plans and dreaming of holidays, the only way to satisfy your wanderlust is by temporarily escaping to more quiet areas of the city (and dressing up, of course). Camera in one hand, flowers in your bag and start exploring! Summer is here.

Roman(ian) Holiday

I had been thinking of putting together an outfit like this for some time (the striped top was sitting nicely in my wardrobe, just waiting to be worn and I'd been dying to wear a headscarf with cat-eye sunnies). All I needed was a pair of retro, high-waisted trousers. And it appears that the stars aligned and I came across this wonderful pair on TheDearhunters boutique. We're always on the lookout for cute local vintage boutiques and we were thrilled to discover Dearhunters. If you take a look, you'll see what I mean. I was immediately struck by the great styling, that makes every vintage piece turn into a very desirable item. They have tons of cute stuff, including the most amazing vintage Armani set. How cool is that?
