Goodbye, autumn !

These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago, when the park alleys were still covered in tons of colorful leaves, during golden hour. In celebration of the season I decided to wear a  brightly-coloured outfit, after all the long grey winter is on it's way and it's unstoppable.

Avanpremiere Fest

 

Last Thursday, as you all know, The Avanpremiere Gala took place at the National Museum of Contemporary Art. We are really happy that this year we got the chance to take part to this amazing event that gathered lots of stylish people. Our favorite pieces were the necklaces and the gorgeous flowy fabrics  and the amazing craftsmanship used by Natalia Vasiliev in her collection, the collars and the black swan vs. white swan feeling from Iris Serban, the bold colors from Teodora Baciu and the gothic lolita look from Anca and Silvia Negulescu.

Style icon contest

As you guys have probably noticed, we're really open to all sorts of fashion-related projects, especially those that stimulate our creativity. As a result, we were more than happy to accept the invitation from the DivaHair team to enter a competition for which we had to create an outfit inspired by our favourite style icon. The hardest part was choosing just one for each :P.

Asa cum probabil ati observat, suntem mai mult decat incantate de orice proiect fashion-related, in special de cele care ne stimuleaza creativitatea. Asa ca, atunci cand am primit invitatia celor de la DivaHair de a participa la concursul a carui tema este crearea unei tinute inspirate de style iconul nostru, am acceptat fara ezitare. Cea mai grea parte a fost, evident, alegerea unuia singur pentru fiecare :P.

Anyhoo, we were faced with the difficult task of choosing between impersonating some well-established  icons or some of the more contemporary darlings of the fashion world.  So in the end it was bye-bye Audrey Hepburn and Jane Birkin (so overdone!) and hello Olivia Palermo and Taylor Tomasi-Hill  :D. You've probably heard about them/ read about them/ seen numerous streetstyle pictures of them, but we still feel the need to write a few things about these contemporary style-icons.

Taylor Tomasi-Hill is was until 3 days ago style and accessories director at Marie Claire and she's currently artistic director for Moda Operandi. She's a true street-fashion star, well-known for her mix-and-match style, statement jewelry and edgy accessories.
The first thing that caught my eye about Taylor was her gorgeous hair (yes, I admit, she may have inspired me hairstyle-wise), but afterwards I found myself completely fascinated with her layering skills and her choice of out-of-the-ordinary items (asymmetrical tops, structured skirts, neutrals combined with just a touch of stronger color and the most unique shoes ever). I don't know how she does it, but she is always looking fashion-forward, without going over the top.
Well, I could go on and on about her - have you seen her wedding pics?, my God she looked gorgeous in that dress- but I will stop now and let you enjoy my pale trial at creating an outfit inspired by her.

The reward: The 2 winners will each receive an invitation to the Avanpremiere 9 Gala, on November 17th. Because the Gala is at its 9th edition, there will be 9 blogs participating in this contest. Each blog will choose its 2 winners and in the end the grand winner (a.k.a - the one who will be rewarded with the Iris Serban Dress) will be chosen by Alin Gălățescu from the 18 finalists.

Premii: Cele două persoane alese vor primi fiecare câte o invitație la Gala Avanpremiere 9 din 17 Nov. Absolutely Fabulous no. 10

The end of autumn (or better said our fab girls, Diana&Alina) brought yet another fashion and vintage fair to spice up a quite gloomy weekend afternoon in Bucharest. It was really overwhelming this time, we met a great part of our blogger friends, even some that we hadn't seen in a while, we took tons of  group shots (oh! how we love these :)) and, as usual, we didn't manage to look around or buy as much as we wanted, despite the irresistible amount of beautiful clothes and accessories. It's so hard to focus when you are surrounded by so many people! I don't know what was more colorful..the autumn leaves or the fashionistas :))

Autumn's Monologue

Hello my darlings,

Let me introduce to you to my new favorite shoes. This red beauties are my new current obsession and i would wear them anytime, anywhere. So this is the look for today. Have a nice and warm Sunday!

Wind of change

So I decided I was bored with my hair and wanted a change. Ok, it may have been more of a desperate necessity. Shorter hair/darker color for the new season. I also wanted to try a different kind of outfit, simple, monochromatic, with an androgynous touch to it. As simple as that!

This is Halloween!

This year Halloween is all about polka dots and lace :). I've been wanting to cover a pumpkin in lace since last year so I'm happy I finally had the chance to do it. And I also made delicious pumpkin muffins with chopped almonds topping.
