50’s Diner in Paris

50’s Diner in Paris

Although recently came back from the States and you might swear these pics were take in an authentic diner, these were actually taken in Paris, as the title of this post says. We were super lucky to accidentally stumble upon this place – HD Diner – which is actually a part of a chain of 50’s inspired restaurants spread across France’s capital city.

You can see from the photos that they tried to keep the decorations as authentic as possible – look at all these pinks and blues! – and the menu was also something you could easily find in a diner in the US: think burgers, pancakes, milkshakes etc. We went there for breakfast, as it was super close to our accommodation, which proved to be a great idea, as it was too early for the diner to be full & we were able to take pics without disturbing anyone.

My only regret is that I was not prepared for this, and by prepared I mean having a full 50’s outfit (I’m thinking a pastel dress with a fluffy petticoat + retro hair & make-up) to go with the surroundings. This is the outfit I wore the entire day to explore Paris, so I had to be comfy. Plus, when I went there, the weather was not very friendly, unfortunately, so I had to improvise. It’s more tomboyish than I would’ve liked, but I think it does have a retro feel to it.

It was still a very nice experience overall & maybe next time I’ll get to wear my dream outfit in a cute location like this one ^_^
