A kind of Magic

A kind of Magic

Ball gowns and a fairytale location, these are the ingredients chosen for the perfect little birthday getaway that happened over the weekend. It involved a rainbow, a roadtrip and lots of warm smiles to make for one unforgettable memory.

To begin with, in case you just didn’t get that the first time around, my birthday was last Saturday. The odds turned in my favor and I was able to celebrate it quite far away form the usual scenery. Me and Sandra got the most unexpected invite to spend one weekend in a magical location named Conacul lui Maldar, a historical hotel in the southern part of the country.

So we woke up quite early in the morning and I was pretty bummed out because of the weather being all gloomy and rainy. But when I stepped out of the house I saw that it was in fact sunny and raining. Of course my first reaction was: “Ok, where is my rainbow? It’s my birthday so I want my rainbow.” But there was no rainbow in sight. So we got in the car and off we went. We left the city behind and the open field was in front of us. It took less than 10 seconds to see the wonder that lay right before our eyes. The most surreal rainbow I have ever seen in my life spreading from one side to the other of the road. Sandra’s immediate reaction was: “Now wish for a unicorn, quick, say unicorn!”, but it made me laugh so hard I completely forgot to say the word. Thus, I ruined a perfect opportunity to encounter the elusive magical creature. After a 4 hour drive we finally arrived at our destination and let me tell you just this:  it was worth the wait. Stay tuned to find out the rest of the story from Sandra, next week.
