Le bustier fleuri

Le bustier fleuri

One of my absolute favourite pieces of garment is the bustier top. The definition of the bustier reads: a tight piece of clothing that covers the upper part of a woman’s body and that is worn by itself or under other clothes. Its purpose is to lift the bust, while gently shaping the waist. In the last few seasons we have witnessed a bustier revival, with a multitude of styles being available, both in the mass-market shops and in designers’ collections.

The combination that I will always love is bustier top + high-waisted skirt: it’s super feminine, it accentuates all the right parts of the body and it has that retro feel that I’m obsessed with. I also love wearing bustiers with high-waisted palazzo pants. I would like to emphasize the high-waisted part;  in my opinion, showing more than a couple of centimeters of your midriff while walking around town is very, very tacky.

I’m wearing a Kelly Brook for New Look bustier top, a Coast skirt, New Look sandals and a vintage bag

I totally agree that less is more when it comes to baring your midriff, although that are certain girls who can pull off showing even more ^_^

I always love seeing you wearing a lovely bustier, I feel like it has become a signature element of your ever-evolving style, and you wore it beautifully.

    Hugs,
    xx
