“April's air stirs in Willow-leaves...a butterfly Floats and balances” ― Matsuo Bashō, Japanese Haiku As it wasn't quite springtime when we took these pics, I decided to (over)compensate with a flower print...
“It tasted like a shade of white near blue; it tasted like the idea of pearls; it tasted like a memory nearly grasped but lost at the last moment.” – Catherynne M. Valente , Radiance
I just had to begin this post with a quote from the book I am currently reading, and which is absolutely magical. It’s described as: a decopunk pulp SF alt-history space opera mystery set in a Hollywood—and solar system—very different from our own.. and I’m in love with it. Catherynne M. Valente also wrote the Fairyland series, of which I only read the first volume, but even so, I was super impressed with her writing ability, especially her descriptions . And Radiance hasn’t disappointed me so far. I am halfway through and I highlighted so many amazing quotes! Ah, and if you are wondering, the quote I chose is referring to the taste of the petals of a flower that grows on Pluto. That’s all I’m gonna say now. I will probably tell you more about it in a wrap-up on YouTube, so keep close!
Also, it feels like I haven’t posted here in an eternity. Okay, I may be exaggerating (a bit), but what I can say is that I missed this so much. The whole process: thinking of an outfit, choosing the location, taking the photos, editing them etc. I’ve been more of an Instagram/ YouTube fan lately – me and the rest of the planet, I know; however, posting on the blog feels like meeting an old friend that you haven’t seen in a while..it gives you warm fuzzy feelings and it’s like you’ve never even been apart 🙂
