Christmas Memories
'Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas . . . perhaps . . .means a little bit more!' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, by Dr Seuss
..it’s time to make a food post. Today on the menu: guacamole bruschette đ . The ingredients are: bread, olive oil, garlic cloves, a medium ripe avocado, a couple of peeled tomatoes, half an onion, finely chopped, lime, salt and pepper. I used olive bread, but i think it was a bit too much. It’s better to use French baguettes or something similar. So, first of all preheat the oven, slice the bread and pour a little olive oil on each slice.
Place the slices in a baking tray, and also pop in some garlic cloves. I like to use the garlic like this, because it’s sweeter and less strong. Toast the sliced bread in the oven for a few minutes, then remove it and rub it with the garlic paste, squished from the cloves. ( I think I learned this from Jamie Oliver :)) )
In a bowl, combine the chopped avocado, tomatoes, finely chopped onion with some lime juice, salt and pepper. Mix it all together.
Spoon the mixture on the garlic toast and there you have it.
I’m not that good at writing recipes, I do hope this is okay.
