The Hearabouts 4-year anniversary picnic party
It feels like just yesterday that we started this wonderful and exciting chapter in our lives called The Hearabouts. We are actually one month late with the anniversary post, as the first-ever article that we published was on August 3rd 2010.
And because it is such a special occasion we would like to share with you a little tale about the birth of the name of our blog. It all began in the senior year of high school, when we decided to start an all-girl punk-rock band (yes, you read that right!) and obviously we needed a name. After long debates, and extracting random words from hats, as a last resort Eve thought of pulling out the Longman English Dictionary and opening it totally arbitrary. Chance made it open at the letter H and somewhere on top was the word “hereabouts” which basically means around here. With a divine inspiration we thought of twisting the word a little and changing the “here” with “hear”. And so The Hearabouts came to life. The band didn’t happen after all, but after a few years, when we decided to start a blog, this name we had come up with popped up in our heads and the rest is history.
Thank you all for the wonderful support you have shown us so far. Please continue to follow us in the future because we are definitely not done with this blogging adventure that we embarked on 4 years ago. We will never cease to do our best to bring magic to life time and time again.
