Vivienne Westwood Shoes

Vivienne Westwood Shoes

37 years of breaking rules, defying gravity and constantly pushing foot fetish boundaries. Vivienne Westwood transformed shoes into cult objects.

Vivienne Westwood Shoes: An Exhibition – 1973-2010 supported by Melissa takes place at Selfridges this month. Oh, how I wish i was in London.

As stated on the official facebook page:
“Westwood’s designs are a result of considered and distinctive influences – 16th Century Dutch Delft pottery as the inspiration for her 1996 Toile Print Boot, British colonialism reflected in the Sahara Plimsoll of 1999, Victorian dandyism influencing the 1996 Trompe l’Oeil Boot and Westwood’s nurse inspired 15.5 centimetre heel Mary Janes of Erotic Zones a salute to S/M and fetishism”.

One of the focus points of the exhibition are, of course, the Vivienne Westwood for Melissa  shoes, a selection from her four season partnership with the brand. These little rubber beauties have already become must-haves for every fashion girl. My personal favourites are Globe Heeled Slingbacks, the Zen Girl Heart Front Flats, the peeptoe flock flats and the Matt Wax Seal Slingbacks. Which I’d buy if i weren’t broke.

Oh, and I almost forgot. What can be better than the Dita von Teese for Melissa campaign?
