Agyness Deyn x Dr. Martens Spring 2013

No really, how could we NOT write about this collab?! It’s somewhat of a fashion dream come true for us. I mean, first we have Aggy (come on, you remember Agyness Deyn, she used to be one of the IT models circa 2008 – I absolutely LOVED her look & her style, and of course I had an entire folder on my computer full of streetstyle photos of her to use as inspiration). Then Doc Martens, and you all know by know how we feel about this brand: we spent many many of our teen years drooling over it while browsing the web, until finally owning a pair. And by we, I mean Eve, as I still haven’t got my own…yet. Last but not least, another shared obsession since we were teenagers: Harajuku girls! Now you can get a picture of how exciting this is for us.

About the collection, it’s actually Aggy’s second collaboration with Dr. Martens and it incorporates clothing, footwear and accessories. She says: “As with the A/W-12 range, I wanted the collection to be accessible. It will appeal to girls who are confident and have a strong personal expression of style and identity in the way that they dress and what this says about themselves.”

And this is true. Who else would wear clothes with eyeball prints (a pic of Aggy’s own peeper for that matter), cropped workwear-inspired attire or those super chunky sandals with decorative bows, if not a bunch of super confident girls with an eclectic sense of style and an appreciation of Japanese subcultures? *wink, wink*
