Ever since we first read about the Ballgowns exhibition at the Victoria&Albert Museum we knew it would be one of the stops on our “must visit” list while in London. The exhibition features more than sixty stunning designs for special occasions such as private parties, royal balls or red carpet events. We had the opportunity to see up-close some breathtaking dresses by Zandra Rhodes, Jonathan Saunders, Hussein Chalayan, Alexander McQueen, Giles Deacon, Erdem and Jenny Packham.

The Alexander McQueen feather dress was an absolute show-stopper.

The interior garden was an absolute delight, with rows of beautiful hydrangeas and quiet corners to sit and enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea. Luckily, the weather was quite sunny and warm for a few hours that day, so we were able to enjoy the garden at its fullest.

We also visited the permanent fashion exhibition (we took lots of photos, way too many to post here) and we would have stayed for a while longer, but unfortunately it was already closing time. If you are visiting London, you shouldn’t miss the V&A., there are so many interesting things to see. The Ballgowns exhibition is on display until 6th January 2013 and it’s a must see for fashion-lovers.
